Privacy policy

What we keep

• Your account: your email address, the username you chose, and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password. We never store or see the password itself.
• Your characters: names, looks, level, coins, goods, items, animals, wagons, where you are, your skills, friends, company membership and what you did in the game (a short activity log).
• What you say: chat and whispers you send, and the notes you write in the game. Chat is shown only to people nearby and is kept for a short while.
• Technical data: the network address (IP) your game connects from and the times of login attempts, used to stop password guessing and abuse, and the login sessions that keep you signed in.
• Feedback you send from the settings window, with the character and place you were in.

On the Steam version, you sign in with Steam: Steam sends us your Steam ID so we can check that you own the game, and we identify your account by that Steam ID. We do not ask Steam players for an email address or a password. Valve handles your Steam account under its own privacy policy. Our game server is in the United States, so your data is processed there.

Why

To run your account and the shared game world, to keep it fair and safe (abuse, cheating, password guessing), to answer feedback and support, and to fix bugs. We do not sell your data, we do not show advertisements, and we do not share your data with advertisers.

Who can see it

Other players can see your character's name, look, level and what you say in chat. Your email address and password hash are never shown to other players. The people running the game can see account and game data to run and support it.

How long

Account and character data is kept while your account exists. Login-attempt records are short-lived. If you delete your account, everything below is removed at once.

Delete your account

In the game, open Settings, Account, Delete my account, enter your password and confirm. This permanently deletes your account, your email address, every character you made with everything they owned, your messages, friends, notes and logs. It cannot be undone. If one of your characters is the Master of a company that still has members, hand the company over first.

If you play on Steam you have no password, so email the support address below from the email linked to your Steam account, give your Steam ID, and we will delete the account for you after checking that it is yours. If you cannot use the game at all, the same applies.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, export or delete the data we hold about you, or to object to how it is used. Ask us at the support address and we will answer within a reasonable time.

Children

The game is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has made an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes and contact
